Section for Coordination and Development of the National Statistical System (Sistan)
Sistan is coordinated by Istat mainly through its internal office, the Section for Coordination and Development of the National Statistical System (Sistan). Its main tasks are:- to develop regulations and guidelines, organisation and functions of Sistan and to coordinate its statistical offices;
- to communicate and disseminate statistical literacy and standardise publications;
- to promote training of Sistan personnel;
- to plan and draft Sistan Magazine and other communication tools, such as a monthly newsletter and a weekly on-line news bulletin;
- to draft the National Statistical Programme (NSP);
- to draft the annual plan for NSP implementation;
- to monitor NSP progress;
- to draw up documents for the yearly Report by the President of the Council of Ministries to the Parliament;
- in cooperation with the Department of statistical production and technical scientific coordination to develop and disseminate nomenclatures, classifications and standards for Sistan bodies/organisations;
- to coordinate information systems supporting Sistan activities.
